As part of the launch of its new V40 smartphone series, Vivo aimed to engage its vast network of sales representatives in a more dynamic, personalized way.

The Campaign

A Personalized CEO Outreach to the Sales Reps

To create excitement around the V40 series launch and motivate their sales teams across India, Vivo India wanted a high-impact, personalized message from their CEO, Jerome Chen. However, recording individual videos for each of their many sales reps was impractical. That’s where Studio by Gan.AI came in.

The solution? A completely lifelike digital avatar of Jerome Chen, created using a single 10-minute video recording. This avatar could deliver personalized video messages to each sales representative, complete with individual performance metrics, all without the need for Jerome to record more than once. It was as though the CEO was speaking directly to every single rep, referencing their performance, goals, and even mentioning their names.

The Challenge

Vivo India needed to keep their sales teams motivated and aligned during a critical product launch of their new V40 series. But with thousands of sales reps spread across different regions, delivering a personalized message to each one was nearly impossible using traditional methods. The challenge was to engage each sales representative in a meaningful, individualized way—highlighting their unique sales performance and encouraging them to push further—while keeping the process efficient and scalable.

The Solution

Vivo India partnered with Studio by Gan.AI to create an avatar of Jerome Chen that could deliver personalized videos at scale while maintaining the authenticity and warmth of a face-to-face message.

Realistic Avatar of the CEO: A 10-minute video of Jerome Chen was used to capture his facial features, gestures, lip movements, and voice. From this single recording, we created a highly detailed, realistic digital avatar that could be used to generate any number of video messages from a simple text script.

Custom Performance Feedback: Each video began with a personalized greeting—addressing the sales rep by name—and referenced their specific performance on the V30 series. For example:

“How’s it going, Raj? I see that the buzz for the V40 series in the market is at its peak. Over the past 10 days, I analyzed your performance for the V30 series and found out that you sold a total of 30 units of V30 Pro. Great job!”

Customized Targets and Motivation: The videos didn’t just recognize past performance—they also set personalized goals for each sales rep. For example:

“How’s it going, Abdul? I see that you sold three units of the V30 Pro and V30 within 1.5 months of the launch. Seeing your performance and potential, I want you to increase your productivity by at least three times and aim to sell nine units. You are one of my stars, and I know you can do it!”

For this campaign, two rounds of videos were generated, with three different scripts used in total. Each video included the rep's first name, V30 sales performance, productivity target, and a personalized goal based on past performance.

Acknowledgment for New Sales Reps: For those who hadn’t been with Vivo during the V30 series launch, the message was adjusted accordingly. Jerome’s avatar made these reps feel equally valued, calling them the newest stars and encouraging them to make their mark during the V40 launch. For example:

“Abdul, I noticed that you weren’t with us during the V30 series launch, which means the V40 series is your first experience with us. I want you to take this opportunity and show us your potential—you’re one of our newest stars!”

Detailed Product Tips: The videos also provided sales reps with key selling points to focus on, such as the Zeiss multifocal portrait feature of the V40 series. Jerome’s avatar reminded reps to highlight this feature in their conversations with customers:

“Don’t forget to tell customers about the Zeiss multifocal portraits, which make the V40 series stand out in this price range.”

Seamless Scalability: What made this campaign unique was its ability to scale. Studio by Gan.AI generated over 25,000 personalized videos per phase, each one tailored to the recipient, all from a single recording session with Jerome Chen.
